Resumption Day Checklist for Students
New term, new energy! Whether you’re returning or starting at a new school, a little preparation goes a long way in making your first day smooth and stress-free. Here’s a simple 10-point checklist to help you start First Term 2026/2027 on the right foot.
1. Get Your Uniform Ready
Make sure your uniform is clean, ironed, and complete — including your tie, badge, belt, or any accessories your school requires.
2. Pack Your School Bag the Night Before
Don’t wait till morning. Pack your books, writing materials, and any items your school has requested for the term.
3. Have Your Documents and Fees Ready
If you have new documents, admission letters, or payment receipts to submit, keep them in one place so you don’t forget them at home.
4. Sleep Early and Wake Up on Time
A good night’s sleep before resumption helps you stay alert and ready to focus, instead of tired and cranky on day one.
5. Eat Breakfast
Don’t head to school on an empty stomach. A good breakfast keeps your energy and concentration up through the morning.
6. Know Your Class and Timetable
If you already know your new class or section, confirm where to go. If unsure, don’t be afraid to ask a teacher or the school office for direction.
7. Bring a Positive Attitude
New term, new goals. Walk in ready to learn, make friends, and try your best, especially if you’re starting somewhere new.
8. Be Ready to Follow Instructions
Assembly, class arrangements, and orientation activities may take a bit of time on the first day. Be patient and listen carefully to your teachers.
9. Introduce Yourself if You’re New
If you’re a new student, don’t be shy, introduce yourself to classmates and teachers. Everyone remembers their first day; people will be understanding.
10. Share Any Concerns With a Teacher
If something is bothering you, a lost item, a health concern, or just first-day nerves, speak to your class teacher. They’re there to help.
Happy New Term! Here’s to a great First Term 2026/2027 — go in confident and ready to learn.
